Protect your recovery phrase
Your recovery phrase (12 or 24 words) is the master key to your wallet. Whoever has it controls the funds.
Do
- Write it on paper (or stamp it into metal) and store it somewhere safe and private.
- Keep a second copy in a separate location.
- Keep the words in order.
Never
- Never screenshot or photograph it.
- Never store it in notes, email, or a cloud-synced password manager.
- Never type it into a website or share it with anyone, including "support".
Kache will never ask for your recovery phrase. Anyone who does, a DM, an "airdrop", a "wallet sync", a support agent, is trying to steal your funds.
Password vs recovery phrase
Your password only unlocks Kache on this device. Your recovery phrase restores your wallet anywhere. If you lose the phrase and your device, no one can recover the wallet, so back it up before you deposit.
